Our models
Self-supporting stairs Q1, Q2, Q3 – one, two or three colours
All three models have the same construction; the difference is the colour scheme. They are stringer stairs with housed treads: a light load-bearing structure suitable for both masonry and timber-frame houses. Q1, Q2 and Q3 stringer stairs are the most rigid and technically compact construction among all our stairs. Each model is available with a straight flight or winder turns (L or U).
Stairs Q1
One colour
One colour throughout the staircase – treads and structural elements. We promote the natural colour and grain of native wood, mainly oak and ash, but we also make stairs from exotic species. We gently brush the wood surface and finish it with hardwax oil. Staining from the colour chart and lacquering are also possible.
Stairs Q2
Two colours
Two colours in one staircase. The treads keep the natural colour of the wood, as do the handrails and sometimes the newel posts. We paint the stringers and balustrade infill in any opaque colour from the RAL palette. We recommend black (loft) or white.
Stairs Q3
Three colours
A combination of three colours. The base is the treads, with the natural grain and colour of the wood. The stringers and other structural elements can be any colour, and the handrails and newel posts can match them or stay in natural wood. The difference lies in the balustrade infill: stainless steel, black or white, chosen for contrast.
Example price for Q1 stairs in ash, oiled, with a balustrade of black vertical rods, in standard dimensions: from PLN 14,980, including installation and transport. We design and price each staircase individually.

About us
Manufacturer of made-to-order timber staircases
Schody-Q is a family-run joinery workshop from Białkowo near Toruń, in business since 1984. The main focus of our development is manufacturing stairs and doors using CNC technology. We make timber staircases to order: each one is designed individually, built in our own workshop and installed by us.
Looking for a joiner to make your timber stairs, or a contractor to handle everything from design to installation? Just send us photos and the dimensions of the stairwell – we will prepare a free design with a 3D visualisation. For stairs on concrete we scan the concrete shell; we cut the components on a CNC machine and install them using our own proprietary technique. The timber is seasoned and kiln-dried, and we oil the surfaces or paint them in a RAL colour.
Our range includes self-supporting stairs, stairs on concrete, cut-string stairs, balustrades and doors.
